A Crude Awakening

  • timely and critical story about the Gulf Oil Spill right in the midst of the worst environmental disaster in history
  • explores the paradoxes of this disaster with a focus primarily on the wildlife impact

Award winning filmmaker, Director of World Animal Awareness Society, Lecturer, and Leader of the All Eyes On The Gulf Expedition Tom McPhee has unprecedented access to the Gulf this summer. At times going where news crews are denied access as a part of their animal/environmental impact documentation, McPhee has extensive footage not seen anywhere else and a first hand story that must be heard. The presentation is part lecture/part film/part interactive exploration and will, of course, be evolving up to the moment.

This is a timely and critical story about the Gulf Oil Spill right in the midst of the worst environmental disaster in history. Now is the time for students/tomorrow's leaders and citizens to learn as events and policy unfold what is really happening and it's multi-layered impact on animals, the environment, the fishing and oil industries, and both the the global environment and the global economy.

A dynamic speaker as well as award winning filmmaker and activist, McPhee will explore the paradoxes of this disaster with a focus primarily on the wildlife impact and show powerful up-to-the-minute footage not seen elsewhere. Proceeds from his limited lecture/film tour will benefit World Animal Awareness Society.
